User Reviews

The projection mapping was beautiful and moving!! The bookshelves reaching all the way to the ceiling are very creative. The way the books are curated and arranged is also fun and really stimulates the desire to read. The permanent exhibition is very impressive, but the limited-time “Ukiyo-e Revolution” exhibition was a bit underwhelming. I was expecting something a little more three-dimensional.
It wasn’t crowded even on the weekend, so it was nice to be able to take my time and enjoy it.

If you like books, manga, or art, you should definitely visit. When I went, they were holding a Monet exhibition, and it felt very innovative—it was a wonderful experience. Apparently the admission fee changes depending on the exhibition at the time. Of course, the bookshelf room was great too. The presentation was amazing! And the café was stylish and delicious.

About the experience

What can I expect from the event? "The Kadokawa Musashino Museum is a cultural complex that combines a library, art museum, and museum. Under the supervision of editorial engineer Seigō Matsuoka, naturalist Hiroshi Aramata, architect Kengo Kuma, and art historian and art educator Shingo Kanno, it disseminates culture from a diverse range of perspectives, from mainstream culture to pop culture.

The museum is a five-story building. The first floor houses the ""Grand Gallery,"" the largest exhibition room in the building, and the ""Manga & Light Novel Library,"" which contains over 40,000 comics and light novels. The second floor is the entrance, which includes the ticket counter. The 4th floor is a unique area that blends library, museum, and art gallery elements, featuring ""Edit Town - Book Street,"" a collection of 25,000 books curated and selected by Seigō Matsuoka; ""Aramata Wonder Treasure Museum,"" showcasing diverse exhibits curated by Hiroshi Aramata; ""Edit and Art Gallery,"" a new kind of gallery where objects, artworks, and words meet to create new value; and ""Bookshelf Theater,"" a library space surrounded by a giant bookshelf approximately 8 meters tall, where projection mapping is also shown. The 5th floor houses the ""Musashino Gallery"" and ""Musashino Corridor,"" featuring books and exhibitions related to the Musashino area.
